Busy Weekend

We had a very full Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, it was so busy I didn't get any pictures! Doug's parents arrived Friday afternoon so that we could start the weekend with Doug's scrimmage that evening. His team was behind when the game was called in the third quarter due to lightning, but who knows what would've happened had they been able to finish?! Never know, could've staged a comeback.

Saturday we were all planning to go to Elon University in North Carolina to see a football game and have a mini family reunion for Doug's dad's side of the family. At the last minute we decided that the girls would go with the grandparents all on their own to Elon and Doug and I would stay home. They had a blast. Maybe we'll get some pictures via those that were there?? They both came back Sunday evening all grown up from spending 24 hours "on their own." Doug and I thoroughly enjoyed our first kid free weekend in a looong time (but we are sad we missed seeing everyone!). We went to the movies, went out to eat, went to Busch Gardens and rode every roller coaster in about 2 hours, and watched part of the Auburn game at Buffalo Wild Wings (where we also ate wings, of course). And that was all just on Saturday. It's amazing what you can accomplish without children and we certainly took advantage of the time we had. Though by the time the girls were due home, we were definitely anxious to see them. Thanks Grandma and Grandad! We really appreciate it.

Monday we got to spend a little more time with Doug's parents before they headed home. We're so glad they got to visit. We LOVE having visitors so anyone is welcome at anytime! Come visit!

AWESOME!!! While mom was here, Scott and I got our 24 hour pass. We went to Kings Dominion and had a great time being "teenagers"! So I KNOW you guys had a terrific time!!! Congrats!

That's awesome you all went to King's Dominion. There is something about an amusement park (without kids) that makes you feel young again. I'm glad you all got that chance as well!
